I am The Christmas Peddler, and this is the simplest holiday idea I have ever had: I hang your lights once, in Halloween colors, and when the season turns I come back and switch the bulbs to Christmas. No second rehang, no tangled boxes, and no feeling guilty about talking Christmas in October.
What Is the Nightmare Before Christmas Collection?
It is one home, two holidays, and one visit that does double duty. I install custom C9 or E15 LED lights along your roofline in Halloween colors. Your home glows through October. Then, close to Christmas, I return and switch the bulbs to the Christmas colors you choose. In January I take it all down and carry it away.
How Does It Work, Step by Step?
- Halloween install. I design the layout around your actual roofline and hang the lights, hooked along the fascia or roof edge, never screwed in underneath.
- Enjoy October. Your home carries the Halloween glow through the 31st.
- The Christmas switch. Around the third week of November I come back and swap the bulbs to your Christmas colors. The lights stay up, so this is a bulb change and not a new install.
- Christmas glow. Your home is ready for the season without anyone climbing a cold roof.
- January takedown. I take everything down and store it in my own storage until next year.
Why Switch the Bulbs Instead of Taking Everything Down?
Because the hard part of lighting a home is the roof, and the roof only needs doing once. Hanging lights is the cold, steep, risky work. Switching a bulb is a quick job from a ladder. Keeping the lights up between the two holidays saves you a second installation and keeps your Christmas spot on my calendar before the season fills.
What Is Included?
- Custom light design for your home’s rooflines and features
- Professional installation with safe roof access, so you never touch the ladder
- Halloween colors in C9 or E15 LED bulbs, faceted or smooth
- The Christmas bulb switch in the colors and pattern you choose
- Repairs through the season, full takedown in January, and storage with me
- Optional extras on request, such as mini lights wrapped around trees, bushes, or columns
How Much Does It Cost?
Every home is different, so I quote in person, with the price written down before you agree to anything. The Halloween install is priced like any first installation for your home, and the Christmas switch is labor only, a fraction of a full install, since the lights are already up. Your quote shows both so there are no surprises.
Who Is This For?
It is for Utah County families who love Halloween and love Christmas but do not love ladders. It is also for anyone who wants the Christmas lights handled early, before the calendar fills, without putting Christmas decorations up in October. Questions People Ask Me
What is the Nightmare Before Christmas Collection?
It is a Halloween-to-Christmas lighting plan from The Christmas Peddler in Utah County. I hang custom C9 or E15 LED lights on your roofline in Halloween colors, then come back before Christmas and switch the bulbs to your Christmas colors. The lights stay on your home the whole time, and I take everything down in January.
Do I have to rehang my lights for Christmas?
No. The lights stay where they are. For the Christmas change I only switch the bulbs, so the second visit is a quick bulb swap and not a full second installation.
How much does the Christmas bulb switch cost?
The switch is labor only and costs a fraction of a full installation, because the lights are already up. The exact amount is on your written quote, so you see it before you agree to anything.
When do Halloween lights need to go up?
Well before October 31st, so you get a full run of the season. October bookings carry 30% off, and any lights going up this month are on the schedule at that rate.
What colors can I choose for Halloween?
Classic orange, purple, and green are the favorites, and orange and white is a clean option too. All of them are C9 or E15 LED bulbs, in either a faceted cut-crystal style or a smooth, clear-glass style.
When does the switch to Christmas happen?
Usually around the third week of November, depending on your schedule. You pick the Christmas colors and the pattern, and I take care of the rest.
Who owns the lights, and who stores them?
The lights are always mine. Your price covers installation, repairs, the bulb switch, takedown, and storage in my own storage, with no extra fees. There is nothing for you to store, sort, or think about.
Do you serve my city?
I serve Utah County and the surrounding communities within about a half hour of Salem, including Lehi, Saratoga Springs, American Fork, Eagle Mountain, Spanish Fork, Payson, and Nephi.
