Falling off the roof is the number one reason homeowners get hurt hanging their own lights, so I bring the ladder, the boots, and years of experience so your family just gets to enjoy the glow.

Rooflines get steep, cold, and icy in November and December, and a fall from even eight or ten feet can send someone to the emergency room. Is The Christmas Peddler Certified?

Yes. I am a Clippa certified Christmas light installer here in Utah County. I am also on my way to a second certification through Village Lighting Company, which will make me double certified. I am a contractor with Village Lighting Company, with Lowe’s, and with Sprinkler World, and Sprinkler World gets its lights from Village Lighting Company too. When should I book Christmas light installation?

Early fall, before the season gets busy. Booking early gets you priority scheduling and better availability, and it also means your lights can go up before the coldest weather hits.

Do you take the lights down too?

Yes, takedown is included so you don’t have to deal with cold, tedious light removal in January. I handle the full process from install to takedown and storage.

What makes your Christmas lights different from doing it myself?

I use higher quality lights than most store-bought strands and design the layout around your home’s actual rooflines for a uniform, custom look. You also skip the ladder time, the tangled storage bins, and the risk of a fall on an icy roof.

Is it safe to have someone on my roof in the winter?

Safety is the reason most people hire a professional in the first place. I take roof safety seriously and I am experienced working on rooflines in cold, icy conditions.

What’s the difference between C9, E15, and mini lights?

C9 and E15 are the larger bulb bases used for rooflines and gutters, they’re built to be seen from the street and hold up to the elements. Mini lights are the small string-style lights, and I only use those for wrapping columns and live trees, never on a roofline or gutter edge.

Can hanging Christmas lights damage my roof?

It can, if it’s done the wrong way. Nailing or stapling lights directly into shingles can puncture the roof and lead to leaks down the road. I hook and clip lights along the fascia or roof edge instead, nothing gets nailed or stapled into your roof.

Are LED Christmas lights actually better than the old incandescent kind?

They really are. LEDs use a fraction of the power, run cooler to the touch, and hold up far longer than incandescent bulbs. All the lights I install are LED, including the ones styled to look like classic warm incandescent bulbs.

Do LED lights hold up in cold Utah winters?

Yes, LEDs actually perform reliably in cold weather, often better than old-style incandescent bulbs, which can be more prone to failure in freezing temperatures.

What happens if a strand of lights goes out partway through the season?

I come fix it. If a strand goes dark during the season, I repair it at no extra charge, that’s part of what you’re getting, not a separate call-out fee.

Do you install Christmas lights for businesses, HOAs, or commercial properties?

Yes. I work with businesses, hotels, HOAs, and apartment or condo communities across Utah County on commercial exterior lighting, not just residential homes. Because the light line stays up on the roofline, switching the display for a different event, like a grand opening, a game day, or a seasonal promotion, is just a bulb swap on the same strand, no new install needed.

Can commercial Christmas lights be changed for other events throughout the year?

Yes. Once the roofline lighting is installed, changing colors for a different occasion is about a 15 minute bulb swap on the existing strand. That means the same install can carry your brand colors for a grand opening, a sports affiliation for game day, a seasonal promotion, and your holiday display, all from one setup.
