Every year we swap homeowners in Utah County from old incandescent strands to LED C9s and E15s, and it’s not just the cleaner look they notice — most tell us they can see the difference on their power bill too. According to the U.S. Department of Energy, lighting a 6-foot tree with LEDs for 12 hours a day over a 40-day holiday season costs about 27 cents in electricity, compared to roughly $10 for incandescent lights over the same stretch — LEDs also use around 70% less energy and last far longer than old-style bulbs. It’s a small line item, but paired with fewer bulb replacements and a full-season install that comes down safely in January, it adds up to real savings alongside the upgrade in look.
